The baseball team had an uphill battle when they traveled to Lake View Saturday May 4th. Riptide ace Garrett Isgette pitched two days earlier versus Green Sea Floyd, but was pulled in the second inning after springing a leak. With pitching options limited, Coach Worth Smith put his best pitcher available on the hill. It wasn’t enough, as the boys dropped their second playoff game to Lake View 11-0.
The team will lose one senior next year and Smith looks to build a stronger pitching staff and develop young talent in key positions. It was a great season for the boys, a season that we can build upon next year.
