Boys Varsity Football · RIPTIDE FOOTBALL – Conditioning Week (Aug. 31-Sept. 4)


All scholars (grades 9-12) planning to participate with Riptide Football this fall are encouraged to attend optional Pre-Training Camp conditioning sessions next week with Coach Klatt and the football coaching staff.  The purpose of these conditioning sessions is to assist scholars with low/moderate intensity conditioning drills as a means for beginning a return to athletic activity.

Building a base of sports-specific conditioning for athletics is critical.  However, due to COVID-19 and the delay it caused for our return to athletics, understand, we will not be able to become conditioned within a week’s time.

Therefore, the intent is to begin the process of proper conditioning before scholars transition to football specific skill practice and development on Sept. 8th.  The timeline for next week’s sessions are as follows:

Monday, Aug. 31 – 6:00-7:00 p.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 1 – 6:00-7:00 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 2 – 6:00-7:00 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 3 – 6:00-7:00 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 4 – 6:00-7:00 p.m.

All conditioning sessions will be held on the practice field at CCSMS.

In order to participate, scholars must have a face-covering for use when not conditioning, t-shirt, shorts, socks, and sneakers or cleats (whichever are preferred for conditioning).  Scholars should also bring a water bottle (multiple if possible) and a towel.

Lastly, scholars participating next week must have a current athletic physical (dated after April 1, 2020) – presented to the coaching staff upon arrival on Monday.
